Show Me That I Matter (SMTIM) is the name of York’s Children in Care council.
The panel consists of young people aged between 13 and 18 who represent and advocate on behalf of all children and young people in care.
They work with elected members and senior managers to challenge, praise, change and improve services for all children and young people in care.
We consult with all children and young people in care who are looked after by York so that we know what the issues are, that need raising.
We consult with younger members through our Speak Up Youth group and also our Care Leavers through I Still Matter.
